Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American actress singer and songwriter. In her early years she was subjected to racial taunts by a lot of Americans. After she participated in school contests and received the highest praise for her singing at the age of 9 she began to feel more confident. This not only increased her self-confidence but also changed the direction she wanted to go in her career. She graduated at the age of 22 with an education from the Julliard School in New York. In 1993 she made her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was called You've Got Mail. Her most memorable break came from her role as The Lady of The Lake as she appeared in the first Broadway adaptation of Spamalot. She was awarded the Tony Award and received great appreciation for her performance. Her fame grew when she appeared in Grey's Anatomy on ABC as Dr. Callie Torres. Also, she is a well-known singer and has produced an extended show. In addition, she's an activist who is active in the field of LGBT rights.
